Programme overview
The programme will introduce students to the various digital design process used in product and machine design. Students will use 3D based CAD systems to design and simulate products and machine parts operations. Then using this data, they will prototype components using such processes as 3D printing and CNC machining.
Following a design methodology student will design products and components and gain an understanding of the stages of the product development life-cycle, from project planning, concept developments, market requirements, design, analysis, prototyping and testing. The student will gain an understanding of creative design methods, material selection and manufacturing processes used for rapid prototyping.
This programme is being run in partnership with DkIT, Creative Spark and Dundalk Chamber Skillnet
